About Johannes Vermeer
Johannes Vermeer (1632 - 1675) was a Dutch painter in the Golden Age. Vermeer's paintings are distinguished by a subtle use of color and an ideal composition. World-famous paintings by the Dutch master Johannes Vermeer include The Little Street and the Milkmaid both currently in the possession of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam in North Holland and the most famous painting of Vermeer the Girl with a Pearl Earring owned by the Mauritshuis in The Hague in the Netherlands. On the card reverse is an image of the 'Girl at a Window' painted in 1645 by Rembrandt van Rijn. Today you can admire this beautiful painting in Dulwich Picture Gallery in London in the United Kingdom.
