Skat was developed between 1810 and 1815 in Altenburg in the German state Thuringia. It has been the most popular German card game for over 100 years and is usually played with three players. Skat is played with a deck of 32 cards and is widely played, especially in Germany.

These Piatnik Skat playing cards with extra large indices have 33 French-suited pattern playing cards (including 1 blank card) made of cardboard in bridge size (57 mm x 89 mm) with 4 extra large indices. The Skat cards are made in Piatnik's playing card factory in Austria in the European Union and come in a tuck case.
